| Hey y'all. Yeah, I don't write in this thing too awful much anymore, seems like most people I knew and grew up with don't. For the few people that DO still write in their Xanga's frequently, I have a couple recent updates about my life. Other than being very very stunningly sexy, I've somewhat officially taken up drums and I'm actually being SERIOUS about it this time! Lol. Yes, that wicked awesome bass player that all you people once knew in years past is gonna be a multi-instrumentalist! Take a couple seconds to bow at my amazingness... Done? Ok. But seriously... for at least a year, I'd been talking about buying a new drumset to replace the CRAPPY one down in my basement(s) (I moved to Frazeysburg last year, lol). I had been talking about aquiring a drum teacher at, say, Sheets and Sons in Nerk, getting a band, etc. But, thanks to my laziness, I kinda started playing on my crappy set, learned most of the basics at least; I even had a few opportunities to play drums for my old youth band! But after that I just kinda quit. That was always one of my main personal demons... getting off my bony ASS and doing something worthwhile. I'd start but never finish. Well recently, I've taken up drums once again, saved up my money and bought some new cymbals (a ride, new cymbal stand, a crash, and some hi-hats), and DEDICATED myself to learning drums. Now I can play a little bit more advanced beats with the use of the bass pedal (I'd have to show y'all, it's hard at least for ME to explain), and am trying to learn new beats when I get the chance, or brush up on some older ones. And tonight (possibly), I'm having Robby over for a jam session so I can practice keeping a beat with him. With all that inspirational CRAP said and done, would anyone know of any GOOD drum teachers around the Newark/Zanesville areas? Or even better... does any band need a drummer?! I mean I'm learning, but I think I'm doing pretty good so far. PLUS I'm an experienced bassist. Oh and ABSOLUTELY NO screamo bands!! Sorry to offend anyone, but I hate emo/screamo music with an insanely bitter passion, lol. Again, anywhere around the Newark/Zanesville area. Thanks! |
